TBOLTS SPORTS MANAGEMENT INTERN PROGRAM ANNOUNCED
The Silver Spring-Takoma Thunderbolts baseball team has six vacancies in its Management Intern Program. The positions are available for both January-June 2008 and June/July, 2008. Upon completion of the program, interns are eligible for community service hours or high school college work/study credit. The management interns will work under the direction of the General Manager for the Silver Spring-Takoma Thunderbolts.
January-June 2008 Internship
Duties: Management interns will be involved in all aspects of team off-season operations. Jobs will include marketing and sales, recruitment and player analysis, community outreach, game-day marketing and promotions, and advertising. The interns will have direct responsibility for their assigned area and will meet once a week with the General Manager and Director of Sales for the Thunderbolts. At the completion of the program, each participant is eligible for community service hours, or high school work/study credit and to receive a certificate of completion. The interns will gain valuable, hands-on experience in all marketing and management aspects of running a successful collegiate summer wooden bat baseball team.
Eligibility: The intern positions are open to any student between the ages of 14 and 23. Applicants should be highly motivated, high-energy individuals who have a desire for greater understanding of sports management. Interns will be required to have access to email and be available for a one-hour meeting once a week. Intern positions are unpaid. June/July 2008 Internship
Duties: Management interns will be involved in all aspects of team operations and will rotate assignments on a regular basis. Jobs include marketing and publicity, statistical analysis and support, media communication, digital music management, food and concession stand operations, maintenance of field and property, patron liaison services, game day promotions, party management, and customer services. The interns will have direct responsibility for their assigned area each game and will meet once a week with the General Manager to discuss progress and problem areas. At the completion of the program, each participant will be eligible for community service hours, or college work/study credit and to receive a certificate of completion. The interns gain valuable experience in all aspects of running a successful collegiate summer wooden bat baseball team.
Eligibility: The intern positions are open to any student between the ages of 14 and 23. Interns will be required to work from 4 p.m. - 11:00 p.m. on home game days, (usually 3-4 days per week). There are a total of 25 home games during the season over an 8-week period. Interns are required to attend a ½ day training program in early June. The league season runs from June 8 - August 4. Intern positions are unpaid. The Silver Spring-Takoma Thunderbolts collegiate summer wooden bat baseball team is a charter member of the Cal Ripken, Sr. Collegiate Baseball League. The team recruits some of the best collegiate baseball players in the country.
