BASEBALL INTERNSHIPS
March 2, 2010 | The Silver Spring-Takoma Thunderbolts baseball team is seeking applications for its 2010 summer Intern Management Program. The positions are available for June/July, 2010. Upon completion of the program, interns are eligible for community service hours or college work/study credit. The management interns will work under the direction of the General Manager of the Thunderbolts.
Management interns will be involved in all aspects of team operations and will rotate assignments on a regular basis. Jobs include marketing and publicity; food and concession stand operations; maintenance of field and property; patron liaison services; game day promotions; party management and customer services. The interns will have direct responsibility for their assigned area each game and will meet once a week with the General Manager to discuss progress and problem areas. At the completion of the program, each participant will be eligible for community service hours, or college work/study credit and receive a certificate of completion. The interns gain valuable experience in all aspects of running a successful collegiate summer wooden bat baseball team.
The intern positions are open to any student between the age of 14 and 23. Interns will be required to work from 4 p.m. - 11:00 p.m. on home game days, usually 3-4 days per week. There are a total of 23 home games during the season over an 8 week period. Interns are required to attend a ½ day training program in early June. The league season runs from June 4 - July 31. The positions are unpaid.

BAT BOYS / BAT GIRLS
Positions as a Thunderbolts bat boy/girl are open to any student between the ages of 10-14. Bat boy/girls will work from 6 p.m. - 11:00 p.m. during assigned home games. Each bat boy/girl will be assigned to work 3-5 home games depending on how many boys/girls are selected for the program. Selected bat boys or girls do not work every game.
