A GREAT NIGHT FOR BASEBALL
June 8, 2010 | It was a great night on Sunday for baseball, but the game against the Rockville Express was canceled because the thunderstorm in the afternoon put just enough water on the filed to make it unplayable.

The next two home games at Blair are on Thursday, June 10 against the Alexandria Aces and Saturday, June 12 against the Bethesda Big Train. June 12 is also Takoma Park-Silver Spring Youth Baseball Night and Washington Nationals Night.  Both games start at 7:00 pm.

T-BOLTS OPENING GAME NO DECISION
June 5, 2010 |
The Thunderbolts and Orioles played for more than 3 ½ hours last night in the 2010 season opening game and ended up tied 7-7 after 13 innings, when the game had to be suspended because the lights are turned off at 11pm at Blair Stadium. The Thunderbolts went out to an early 5-0 lead, saw the Orioles bat around in the 7th to go ahead 7-5, then scored single runs in the 8th and 9th to tie the game. The Thunderbolts had several scoring chances in extra innings but were unable to push home the winning run. The game will be finished at a date to be determined.

The next home game is Sunday, June 6 at 6pm against the Rockville Express. It is Silver Spring International Middle School Teacher Appreciation Night. The Advanced Band from the school will be in attendance at the game and provide music throughout. We'll also try again to inaugurate TENNIS BALL MAYHEM at the end of the game, which had to be suspended last night because of the late hour. If you're curious about what that is, come on out to the game!
