The Silver Spring-Takoma Thunderbolts lost to the Baltimore Redbirds 2-1 in 12 innings, at Calvert Hall High School, on June 29th 2015.
T-Bolts starter Conrad Wozniak (UMBC) pitched seven innings of no runs, giving up only four hits and striking out seven, but the bullpen could not hold the lead.
Redbirds starter Will Stokes (Mississippi), countered, with six innings of one run ball, striking out five T-Bolts, and allowing only five hits.
The lone run of the game for the T-Bolts was scored in the first inning. Second Baseman A.J. Lee (Maryland-College Park) hit a triple with one out, and came home on a passed ball.
The Redbirds would finally push a run across once Wozniak left the game in the eighth. Logan Grant (Millersville) would come out of the bullpen, and after inducing a flyout, allowed a game-tying home run to Will Golsan (Mississippi). Grant quickly got out of the inning without allowing another hit.
After three more scoreless innings, the Redbirds would win the game in the twelth on a Stuart Fairchild (Wake Forest) sacrifice fly, scoring Mac Caples (Virginia Tech).
T-Bolts pitcher Connor Tagg (Case Western Reserve) was handed the loss, while Redbirds pitcher Isaac Mattson (Pittsburgh) took the win.
